The Mysterious Murder of Mugsy Morrow
“I can’t even remember what happened very well!” Was all Martha could say. It was about 9:30, half an hour after the murder of Mugsy Morrow. It had happened in Martha’s café where someone had shot Mugsy Morrow, the well known delinquent. Martha said she was beside the till when she heard a bang and the next thing she knew, Mugsy was on the floor coated in blood. Abby and Gabby nodded thoughtfully, and left.
Abby and Gabby were both detectives, and they were twins. They had short blonde hair and twinkling green eyes. They were very tall and extremely fashionable. They had 4 suspects, Aaron, Ben, Camille and David who had all been at the scene of the crime. Aaron was a famous athlete, so he was very muscly. Ben was quite large and Camille was always shifting about. David was very good-looking! At the time of the crime, Aaron and Camille were reading, and Ben and David were having a heated discussion about who spoke better English. Abby and Gabby found a bloody handprint on the wall of the café which was made entirely of blood. They sent it to get tested and when it came back, it was Mugsy’s blood. But wait. Why would his hand already be covered in blood if he had probably been shot after leaning on the wall?
Gabby went running to her sister, Abby, telling her that she had found footprints. They collected all the suspect’s shoes, but none of them matched. (By the way, the footprints were covered in Mugsy’s blood and leading out of the café so there was a good chance of them being the killer.) Abby realized that they hadn’t got Martha’s, so they sent them to test, Ricki; (their helper) shouted he had found the murder weapon. It was a 9mm gun, which matched the bullets embedded in Mugsy’s brain and heart. They sent the gun and the bullets away to test and were wondering about what else they would find, when the results of Martha’s shoes came back. Abby and Gabby read it with deep frowns looking more and more concerned. They decided to look for more clues. Ricki’s startled shout made them jump. He said he had found a cigarette which had some DNA on it.
At that point, Martha came in asking if they had found anything. Abby said that Martha was under arrest because the murder weapon had her fingerprints on it and her shoes matched the footprints they had found. Martha sighed and confessed. She said she was Martha Marrow, Mugsy Morrow’s sister. Martha said he had killed their mother so she had thought it fair to kill him, too. Abby and Gabby watched as the police took Martha away into the distance.
